Dunia ini telah terkontaminasi oleh Irous (makhluk misterius yang tiba-tiba muncul dengan tujuan invasi), dan manusia menyadari bahwa dirinya telah terkontaminasi. Para gadis dengan gagah berani berdiri melawan musuh ini, tanpa tentara yang kuat ataupun senjata. Sekolah Wanita Shinjugammine adalah sebuah sekolah untuk “Hoshimori” (Bintang Pelindung) — sebutan untuk para gadis tersebut — yang ditakdirkan untuk melawan Irous.
