Suatu hari, Taiki, seorang bocah kelas 1 SMP, saat selesai tanding basket, mendengarkan suara misterius yang minta pertolongannya. Ternyata suara itu berasal dari Shoutmon, digimon naga kecil yang sekarat. Taiki juga tanpa sengaja menemukan sebuah digivice yang disebut Xros Loader yang tiba2 muncul dihadapannya. Saat memegang digivice itu, Taiki bersama ke-2 temannya Akari & Zenjirouu, tersedot ke dalam Digital World.
