Sousuke mendapat misi untuk melindungi Kaname Chidori yang diduga sebagai Wishper (Orang yang memiliki kemampuan khusus dalam memberi arahan kepada pilot). Sousuke Sagara sendiri telah berperang sejak umur 8 tahun. Kemudian menjadi sukarelawan di organisasi yang bernama Mythril dengan bayaran setengah harga dari prajurit biasa. Kapal selam Mythril dikapteni oleh Teletha Testarossa yang memiliki seorang kakak yang beranama Leonard Tetrarossa. Sousuke Sagara dahulunya merupakan ex gerliyawan perang di Helmajistan (Bagian Utara Afghanistan versi Full Metal Panic).
